Heavy Timber and Peeled Poles...it happens!

Heavy timber construction and peeled poles...that is what we are working on for the Camp Hayden project in Fishkill, NY. This doulgas fir log will be peeled and fabricated into a support column. Any guesses on the size of this?

Careful MJ!

Here is a look at our shop drawing. Complex timber framing and custom designs.

Before the peeling...

during...MJ and Todd are working hard on this. 5 timber columns in all, and this is not an easy task.

and after...

Done! Great job guys...

Thank you Disdero Lumber Company, we look forward to receiving one more shipment and then all the timber for this project will be in house.

That's one big log! My guess is about 2.5' in diameter by about 70' in length ???

WOW good guess! It's only 18" x about 38ft though....now it seems small, hahaha.

Well, I am way off, then. I was going to say about 45'-50' in length, but the top photo made me think "it's much longer than 50 feet!"

But yes, it does seem much smaller, now! :-)
