This design was originally sent to us in steel. We were asked to take a look in heavy timber. With an over 66ft top chord in glulam and the rest in natural douglas fir timber, here is our heavy timber design.
Personally, I love it. This timber frame project will be interesting and challenging! I'll keep you posted as design decisions are made...
It's a wonderful idea. Big open spans, timber trusses with steel tie rods and webbing. Sometimes a glulam beam is needed. Not in this case!
